SARAH DAVIDON, ED.D.
Sarah Davidon, Ed.D. has led policy and systems-building initiatives related to early childhood, mental health, disabilities, and coordination of human services systems and practices, and has provided guidance and direction for 20 years in Colorado’s development of a children’s educational and health system that intentionally includes social, emotional, and mental health. Dr. Davidon is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and the Harvard University Graduate School of Education and received her doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Education and Human Development in educational equity.
Dr. Davidon joined Mental Health Colorado as the Research Director in 2017 and now also leads the organization’s child and adolescent mental health strategy. She also is an assistant professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
She is recognized for her work in both early childhood and school-age mental health system design and strategy, working with organizations in Colorado and across the country to improve how children’s mental health is understood and addressed.
She currently has a Governor’s appointment to the Children’s Mental Health Subcommittee of the Behavioral Health Task Force, an appointment to the Douglas County Commissioners’ Mental Health Committee, serves on the Board of Directors of Healthy Child Care Colorado, has held a Governor’s appointment to Colorado’s Behavioral Health Transformation Council, and is past-president of the Colorado Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health.”
